Youth Work & Schools Collaborative: Youth Awards and Personal Achievement

This event will explore how youth work, youth awards and schools can collaborate in the design and delivery of a curriculum that offers young people opportunities for personal learning and skills development.

Youth work and youth awards play a key role in planning and delivering opportunities for personal learning and achievement, within school and in the wider community. Personal learning helps young people to develop knowledge, attitudes and skills for learning, life and work. This can be an important pathway to support engagement and raise attainment within the context of the Scottish Attainment Challenge.

Additionally, the Independent Review of Qualifications and Assessment determined that a broader range of opportunities for personal pathways and project-based learning should be offered to all young people as a curriculum entitlement.

This session will be jointly facilitated by YouthLink Scotland, Education Scotland and the Awards Network. It will focus on exploring how youth work, youth awards and schools can collaborate in the design and delivery of a curriculum that offers young people opportunities for personal learning and skills development.
